journey- don’t stop believin’
countdown- house finale

“Current and Relevant” is my way of battling the media, non-tech savvy press, worried family organizations, and the FCC. I’m not a “hater”–complete and total criticizer of everything business and media. I’m simply a person whose not willing to take the bullshit that these people push today. For one, I’m tired of concerned peoples criticizing the social networking revolution. Flickr, MySpace, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, del.icio.us, and other sites have become massively popular thanks to “social interaction”. People no longer want to be a part of websites that don’t integrate social networking in it.

Critics claim that a: social networking sites are open invitations for pedophilia and porn and b: social networking is an obsession and that anybody who joins it immediately deserves the label “internet addict”. Both are complete myths:

For one, social networking is (true) open to pedophilia, but only to naive teenagers who are willing to spill their personal information to the whole world–people usually like to privatize their profiles and social networking sites that include personal info to prevent others from peeking. And they even don’t even publicize this information to prevent it. Porn has been prohibited thanks to “watchdog” efforts from web filters and concerned users themselves.

Second, being an addict to something as heavenly as the internet ain’t such a bad thing anymore. The internet has numerous purposes–if it is an unhealthy obsession with Gears of War and everything about it, online RPGs and “clans”, World of Warcraft, or possibly porn, the term “addict” applies. If it is the overuse of sites like Facebook, del.icio.us, and Flickr, it’s not addiction. It’s lifestyle. And as long as you balance it by eating in moderation and being active, it’s not a problem.

So, get into social networking. Don’t believe the m y t h s/ /

mika- love today
countdown- house finale

It’s seriously time to enjoy life. Many people complain that they have no time to enjoy their own company — relax and read a good book, ride a bike in a park, or do something inspirational. Perhaps the majority of this world is running too fast, on their mocha frap lattes, Segways, and “Crack”berrys. Nothing is wrong with any of these items, but they’re all materialistic. People are no longer enjoying the simpler way of life, or even the part of life that didn’t go so fast. The part of life where people worked for fun and not for money. The part of life where people strive to be themselves and not perfectionists. The part of life where people choose a cheap, dry coffee over some decaf mocha.

Why won’t people just sit down and realize the simpler things of life? I realize it–I’ve been running crazy recently. I need to enjoy life more. Just a tidbit. L a t e r//

The media is becoming quite a piece of crap–and not just in the US of A. In most places, now, journalists aren’t people looking for the truth. They’re people looking for their paychecks, looking for stardom, and people working for greedy businessmen and women. Both local and national news organizations have started “hyping” and “buzzing”–two words relatively unknown to man during the years of Walter Cronkite. Whether it be hyping or buzzing votes in the Senate, a new movie up and coming, a new football (either sport) player, or anything else.

The sad part of it is that so many people are that naive and gullible to believe it all. They sit and gawk at television awaiting the media to say “what’s next” and “what’s not” anymore. It’s time to control your own destiny. Sit down and think of what you could possibly do to better yourself: think for yourself. That’s a start. For the rest of this month and next month, try it. Think for yourself; make your own valid opinions based on what you read in a newspaper and skip the editorial page. I guarantee you’ll like it much better than what you’re doing now.

a new beginning

countdown - locoroco newsletter

Splendid mess. That’s what I would call myself right now. I’m doing all the right things and doing all the wrong. Seems as if once everything in my life started winding down, everything started coming back to me. I can’t get certain things right—I can get certain things right. It’s a back-and-forth battle I like to call “life’s shit”, but other people may soon disagree with me.

This is more of a new beginning for me. The old blog was just too random and not working out. This time, it’s all about my inner thoughts about people, about life, and about new beginnings. Indeed, every blog post I will have tried something new. I will start over or begin a new quest; I will take a new path and create a new forest. I will truly become the person I’ve always dreamt of being and never actually did.

So there it goes. Stay strong//
